According to an article on today's SmartPros website:
"Healthcare costs are expected to increase on average 11 percent in the next 12 months"
This rate of increase is more than four times the rate of general inflation.
Total spending on HealthCare in the US was $2 Trillion in 2005, or $6,700 per person according to The National Coalition on Health Care. Total health care spending represented 16 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP).
I wonder how long businesses will continue to tolerate this increasing expense, especially given the frustrations that many feel with the service they get. I referred to this in a previous post called: The Future of HealthCare - A Storm is Brewing.
If a HealthCare budget crisis occurs (and I don't see how it can be avoided) the impact for all of us involved with HealthCare Design could be significant.
